The Honolulu Board of REALTORS® Dispute Resolution Service (DRS) is designed to help consumers and REALTORS® resolve real estate transaction issues.

Q. I am a consumer who is having an issue with a REALTOR®. How can I resolve my issue?

A. A consumer’s first step should be to contact the agent’s firm. The primary contact for a member firm may be found our REALTOR® Directory. A principal broker, who is often the primary contact, is, in most cases, able to resolve issues related to real estate transaction issues.

Q. What if my issue concerns the principal broker, or the principal broker was unable to resolve my issue?

A. If your issue concerns the principal broker or you discussed the issue with the agent’s principal broker and your concerns were not resolved, please contact HBR’s Professional Standards Department at 808-792-4945. A variety of dispute resolutions services are available to you at no cost, including assistance from a trained mediator, or ombudsman, as well as ethics and arbitration hearings.
